[opensuse-factory] bash-5.0$
Hi, looks like when upgrading to latest TW (in my case from 20190521) the command line in Dolphin (using F4 to open) shows only bash-5.0$ instead of user@machine:$PATH > Anyone to confirm this behaviour? Cheers Axel Can't confirm. It gives me the exact same prompt as in yakuake, konsole etc.

I see my normal prompt. why not check "echo $PS1" in both environments. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I can confirm this for Dolphin windows from a restored session (that is, for windows that are automatically reopened when you log out of a KDE session and then log in again). But it’s not a new problem; I’ve had it for *years*. I think the (non-root) cause of the wrong command-line prompt is that the terminal window in Dolphin *for restored session* is not reading the ~/.bashrc file (for some reason). Why do I think that? Because both my custom bash prompt, other custom environment variables and my custom aliases are not available in these Dolphin terminal panes. And manually running ‘source ~/.bashrc’ is a temporary fix. -- Regards, Karl Ove Hufthammer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, looks like this is the issue. After closing and reopening Dolphin the prompt is back to normal. Is there a bug with KDE for this? I found this one: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=279614 -- Karl Ove Hufthammer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
