[opensuse-factory] slow libreoffice
hi, using latest tumbleweed snapshot (nvidia driver 367.27) and libreoffice is very slow (e.g. switch between sheets in oocalc is about 2 - 3 seconds). And it looks like problem with UI drawing. And also I noticed that main menu is blinking when mouse moves over it. thanks, miso -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I can just confirmed that Loo 5.2 ( since its introduction ) is very slow (like damn hell) in the redraw calc or writer. I should have already push a bugzilla entry first, but lack of time. I've also tried the remove accelerate graphics, and use opencl with no better rendering. People using intel driver (at least under gnome3) seems to not be affected by this. Which will lead to more problem to expose and reproduce the phenomena. To report correctly, the non obvious things is finding publishable documents who present the symptom without any fear of leaking data. Then making a small video (simplescreenrecorder can do it) comparing 5.2 against for example 5.1 (leap) should demonstrate enough clearly the things. In would be even better if we can have still a 5.1 for TW Is there still one in Loo devel repo ?? Sorry I've not able to free up time for that too. -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch Bareos Partner, openSUSE Member, fsfe fellowship GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Unfortunately, this is not completely true. I've got 5.2.1 today, and retest, and still I have a 6 to 9 seconds refresh rate changing sheets on a ods document. I've found that one of the odt that is hyper slow to open has in fact the new property include font in document (the font was the google handlee one). Once I've suppress this attribute, the rendering was a bit better, but still lag a lot compared to a 5.1x version unfortunately (at least for me ;-) -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member, fsfe fellowship GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I'm deeply sorry about those words. I was ping yesterday during a stress day about this message and the fixes by a colleague. The problem was that on the morning I've made my zypper fu to grab update and see Loo 5.7.1 and Evil Virtualbox 5.1.4. I let the update going alone, and reboot the computer. When I awnser yesterday I was 100% sure to have Loo 5.2.1 installed. Image my confusion when this morning I saw again the Loo 5.2.1 update proposed. I've just tested now, and damn it's working really fast, so then again a pleasure to work with. Please accept my deep apology . -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch Bareos Partner, openSUSE Member, fsfe fellowship GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
