[opensuse-factory] SUSE themed icons
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello all, I dont know if it has been brought up before but why not have some openSUSE themed icons for the default theme? I know its a lot of work (if I was talented enough to make them, believe me I would) but I think it would be great if the defaults were green instead of the oxygen blue which clashes with the theme. For example the folder icons in the oxygen theme are a blue while the rest of the theme make everything green so they stick out in a bad way. I was just wondering what you guys thought about the idea. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.22 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJTfUwYAAoJEPgjlVNKGZd55YMP/A0QKdDnl7QgxnACxORCklyu HIJIVV0zgLM85yQXvQR/+TE+5I37LNo60XB6HtrEngiM8i6cVNvi4xfuHeUlTVsU /ra6hhcdo24AqSD9lbRmHA9Wnf1vNzH80jO3tRUxoSh5nFNXtnA5CZsKFjaWL7Hp SIZCaDyNNi/8DMJbt7PW37PzFtFDbsanZgd0Ohr1867TaOzJjuF9sbz40DgLnpgL P5zfdcjlvbTqYfPNUdOX4grCbF3MO1K5nMztZZekxA4HWAKlIO0HWjQyiqItmp18 /oaI+cTt98oQ+n0J5M87JzdFkgO/YYDNUUumBCWtt0s1Y9HPRj74ROkwI9FzvB9e wdsKYSLqP0quAaekSaQdfCvhJx2ywoAsObrWMciEVcryfBlvzuU/vN7HW0plMC3/ xbsu2kpQKwqNRGPks5/RSIoYfuxeClZHIaIAsZcWzqqIdNRHHn6QR8QBhWh1/yiy fq3QXhhUOsNofCzDDqRvdV1XiHcUVynRKi8hzJDCjaiPkv0RAKi9iTRSiusqIZbS k+aCkoYuF/Z2Bv7BaU3LtorieIqlXcDEwSjwVpaFd75mDzGkape6MewcQgGP1fg6 cYKEiJZL6Cmh6cozf7YCQqlD3dkx67ZeTCa5ozzn4w41T+O6BNG3580WX6XR9i6C OTGk+2XQJ9n8DnHW97V2 =CmAF -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I was just wondering what you guys thought about the idea. I also believe that it's high time that openSUSE had their own custom icon

This is probably a topic for the -artwork list. Creating a complete icon theme for KDE from scratch is a huuuuge task, and not really realistic, or even desirable. But creating a modified icon theme with selected important icons, on top of the upstream default icon theme, is quite feasible. However KF5/Plasma Next is getting pretty close. And it will get a new icon theme, so that should probably be the target, instead of wasting a lot of time on a modified oxygen icon theme, and then throw it all away one year from now. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I agree. Modifying an existing one would be much easier.

It makes a lot of sense for KF5/Plasma Next rather than the KDE4. -- Cheers! Roman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Probably should have posted it there. I am willing to make a new thread there if people are interested.

Agreed, as I said if I had the talent to do it I would.

I think all that really needs to change are the non application specific icons since those colors can vary without confusing the user about which application they are using. For example changing the colors for KGPG would be pointless and just add confusion for no reason. However things like folders, icons in the System Tray are good candidates for change (although personally I like the default system tray icons opensuse uses, just stating them as an example). The only problem wrt to the System Tray that I ever had was things like hplip using its own icon so it really sticks out, but there isnt much that can be done about that.

On board with this idea, getting new icons for KF5 would just make me even more excited to get my hands on it. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.22 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJTgApFAAoJEPgjlVNKGZd5yJcQALSYZh7gM+nNWZf8e96/yGxH zFRax3HzlnYLhVoBQEUilQ7lKVQtE3bWpv2UWHlec0mHNTN4tgLpYc9ooPfO+4Hx iGoCwL8Mw5i1GlQ1s4NSI8Xq9bxpmyLP029Yins/skmLYw4pTsejBE0vDSex06L/ gX13U90aTLb5s5hJp/eAc2N0okoc3V93CKy6BZJGdKT8geWSvyIFQnEQnAPY8VHV EVsD0hkKmLLv35RvSOD2ox/Q1N/LFrBRGOyIGMWR3C/LFDzXbXMk7RGI4d++kckV UTIHBcAJWvYXUkEojp6HdxyYOPORIEq3sEuJZ7iDrj2m5XBRbkINbNynXfJwhRZN GI/GglzgxylkumXV+WF1+j2gF0c3adwMkLy7QlO5YpTTJOlNU8NSAJL8XZfGmIr+ aJKgEXfFdZ2+yIUvRPke4TXZoVFtAL068LdUzEKgy4ydMcRFXo361I4fbkCoMDMo cm7Wy1tYzFmdc8CrjmPUgU3pweGeGm6wlGLdsDRyNXPMtwjbSYHEBGMZS4vJYgiZ c14cQU4ja2bdohS9bwQoapq8zKRrn+8W3qVLJK2ic9VTN0VJeGFbbTq1V2oiTwcY f5Gll/PMVco2cYHHME9/0Ir4ZY6MCvREJ3eu26VqFuvXXK404KrY6mvaK8k2+o4b bzHC2Mv64PzWZIjUuJQD =/Pf/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
