[opensuse-factory] Known, or not synced?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, As to be seen in signature, just updated to latest factory... Ran into minor problem: as there was no possibility to select an error message ( personaly i find this most irritating..especialy when testing..), i choosed to make a screenshot. While starting ksnapshot the desktop frooze, no keyboard input, only mouse movement... had to shutdown with button. Fortunately this happened at the end or the update, and i wanted to register the complaint about a pkg that could not be found, (sync in progress on KDE4 at same time..turned out later..)so it completely rebooted, only the Yast2-update-Factory module was broken.. (reinstalling it 'cured' the problem ;) Conflicts: | #### YaST2 conflicts list - generated 2008-01-25 16:04:49 #### | | MPlayer-1.0rc2-1.pm.1.x86_64 requires libdirectfb-1.0.so.0()(64bit), but none of the providers can be installed | | [ ] deinstallation of MPlayer-1.0rc2-1.pm.1.x86_64 | [ ] DirectFB-1.1.1-3.x86_64 niet installeren | | | libxine1-1.1.8-0.pm.2.x86_64 requires libfusion-1.0.so.0()(64bit), but none of the providers can be installed | | [ ] splashy-0.3.8-3.x86_64 niet installeren | [ ] deinstallation of libxine1-1.1.8-0.pm.2.x86_64 | | | | #### YaST2 conflicts list END ### There was also a gcc41 and gcc++ dep-problem, but i choosed to keep the installed ones for now. - -- Have a nice day, M9. There was also a gcc41 and gcc++ dep-problem, but i choosed to keep the installed ones for now.
gcc41 is pretty old. we use 4.3 nowadays for the mplayer problem: packman needs to recompile it for factory. same for libxine -- openSUSE - SUSE Linux is my linux openSUSE is good for you www.opensuse.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I don't think PM creates packages for Devel versions of openSUSE, so this is going to happen more and more later in the development process. It is unavoidable, as openSUSE moves ahead. MPlayer in this specific case requires an older directfb than opensuse offers. If you wish to keep MPlayer without recompiling, choose not to install the newer version of DirectFB (which of course could break other dependencies) Dominique --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
