is it a simple URL (we can setup on the wiki) that gives a list of all the bugs fixed for a given distribution (say 10.0 or 10.1 when it come stable) I mean only stable one (bugs fixed after inst-source freeze) - may be a http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-security-announce/ summary? jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos

summary?
That will be a LOT. Do this: https://bugzilla.novell.com -> Search Reports and enter the following: Status : Closed Product : SUSE Linux 10.1 Words : <EMPTY> Click on search. Select 'Res' to sort on. Another way that could be better and easier is to use deskzilla. http://deskzilla.com/ Not free. If you want, you can ask a new ID every 30 days. The mailinglist is being worked on and will be available somewhere after 10.1 release. houghi -- Nutze die Zeit. Sie ist das Kostbarste, was wir haben, denn es ist unwiederbringliche Lebenszeit. Security Announcements as RSS feed? www.novell.com/products/security.html (www.novell.com/newsfeeds/rss/securityPatches.xml) does not include Linux products it seems. Regards, Ulrich On 26 Apr 2006 at 15:37, houghi wrote:

Just look closer. http://www.novell.com/linux/security/suse_security.xml (actually broken currently due to syntax error. *sigh*) Ciao, Marcus

OK. It seems that asking for a new key after 30 days does not work. :-( Well, you can ask and accept it, but it won'd hold up. houghi -- Nutze die Zeit. don't give what I want. the oldest bug is 2003!!! It's normal to have many bugs _before_ the distro go stable. there should be much less _after_ that. and standard user is only affected by these ones. If the list is public, anybody can go to the page and see if the bug it fears is fixed or not but this links may not go through the mail :-( https://bugzilla.novell.com/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&short_desc_type=allwordssubstr&short_desc=&classification=SUSE+Linux&product=SUSE+LINUX+10.0&target_milestone=SUSE+Linux+10.1&long_desc_type=substring&long_desc=&bug_file_loc_type=allwordssubstr&bug_file_loc=&status_whiteboard_type=allwordssubstr&status_whiteboard=&keywords_type=anywords&keywords=&bug_status=NEW&bug_status=ASSIGNED&bug_status=NEEDINFO&bug_status=REOPENED&emailassigned_to1=1&emailtype1=substring&email1=&emailassigned_to2=1&emailreporter2=1&emailqa_contact2=1&emailcc2=1&emailtype2=substring&email2=&bugidtype=include&bug_id=&votes=&chfieldfrom=&chfieldto=Now&chfieldvalue=&cmdtype=doit&order=Reuse+same+sort+as+last+time&field0-0-0=noop&type0-0-0=noop&value0-0-0= it's advanced, suse linux 10.0, milestone 10.0 and shows only 9 bugs - but don't seems to show security bugfixes (may be not public? jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos

Perhaps there is an advanced search as well. https://bugzilla.novell.com/query.cgi?format=advanced
It's normal to have many bugs _before_ the distro go stable.
there should be much less _after_ that.
You asked for fixed ones. There will only be MORE fixed ones.
and standard user is only affected by these ones.
And only if he has the program installed. The best way for the user is to configure a daily YOU, so that he also gets these updates.
If the list is public, anybody can go to the page and see if the bug it fears is fixed or not
That is what the search is for.
but this links may not go through the mail :-(
<snip> Why would you want it to go by mail? If you want to send it, use tinyurl.com. The list will be different each and every day. And as said, they are working on a list that will send changes from Bugzilla. houghi -- Nutze die Zeit. Sie ist das Kostbarste, was wir haben, denn es ist unwiederbringliche Lebenszeit.
