Almost - but not really :) That site always gives the diff to the snapshot marked as 'current' - it does NOT give information abot what exactly is in the snapshot when the current marker is not on the one you expect it to be on. Cheers, Dominique

As the message indicates: the changelog generator only includes changes from packages on the DVD - in this case, all changes are on packages NOT part of the DVD you can always follow https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/commit@lists.opensuse.org/ to get more detailed information about all changes/checkins to Factory Cheers, Dominique

Not sure how feasible that is, but limiting the changelog mail to things from the DVD seems like fallen out of time to me. The DVD contains some thousand of the 19+ thousand packages (I don't have an exact package count) so why only report on those? I guess this could be changed to show all changes (with a lot of work, I guess). But to be honest, I find the current state of the mail unreadable (for a big snapshot), so I do not know if it worth the effort to change it and make the mails even longer... I personally use this mail only as a "new release indicator", as most of the things I get updates for are not on the DVD anyway. So maybe rethinking the format, just sending a mail with a link to the full changelog on $WEBPAGE might also be of worth? Again: This might mean a lot of work, so I am not sure if it would be worth implementing if everybody is fine with the current state... Kind Regards, Johannes

The announcement mails have already had the habit of exceeding the maximum size allowed to the lists I imagine increasing the scope would be worse Maybe mail isn't the best format for tracking such things

Exactly my thoughts. Thinking even further, having a webpage with a clickable table-of-contents (pointing to the packages changed) might make the entries even more accessable. Kind Regards, Johannes

I personally like the current format. Okay, sometimes it becomes a bit large. So when the scope would change from DVD to "all-in-Factory", then probably the details section could be moved to and generated as a web page ... and the link to it could be added instead. The short list is always useful IMO. Bikeshedding: Maybe the short list could be grouped by upstream version changes first vs. OBS changes afterwards, like: === Upstream updates === pkg-a (1.2.0-12.1 -> 1.2.1-1.1) pkg-c (2.0.9-3.1 -> 2.1.0-1.2) === OBS changes === pkg-b (3.2.1-1.1 -> 3.2.1-2.1) pkg-d (1.2.3-4.1 -> 1.2.3-5.1) ... or just leave it as it is. :-) Have a nice day, Berny
