Axel: should we be conserned about the red results of the openQA test results? Rough schedule of QUs SLE 15 SP3 QU1 Sep/Oct 2021 SLE 15 SP3 QU2 Dec/Jan 2022 SLE 15 SP3 QU3 March/April 2022 Marcus: for 15.4 Maint team noticed that SLES 15 SP4 we plan to remove python2 https://code.opensuse.org/leap/features/issue/15 Leap 15.4 needs to filter out python2 modules in order to not inherit them in 15.4 GA. P ## openSUSE Tumbleweed * Only two snapshots, lots of fights with openQA * Plasma 5.23 has been published as part of snapshot 20211018 * rpm 4.17 seems almost ready - two more build failures (vagrant and hpc, hpc has a PR on github) * No active progress on openSSL 3 ## Richard (Kubic/TW MicroOS) working on a tool to convert existing Tumbleweed (and maybe also Leap) systems to MicroOS and/or MicroOS Desktop improvements to podmans use of /usr for configuration new MicroOS Desktop website still WIP ## Max * Not much news, 15.3 Respin - test results look okay. Publishing still didn't happen. We'll do it this week. 15.4, Lubos will schedule a meeting to test publishing part, we should've Lubos, Adrian and Max in this meeting. * I did ask Adrian to refresh pool 15.4 repos. So there is a mass rebuild now. * Update some packages from Factory that fixed builf failures also. * lightdm issues on openQA related to config file uses /usr/etc, that is a bug in lightdm's specfile doesn't replace /usr/etc to /etc becasue of _distconfidir has appeared in SLE15 SP4 rpm-config, fixed and submitted to Factroy, bsc#1190289 * 15.4: some build failures we need to find owners (cilium, enovy, protoc, etc.) * opensuse-welcome didn't display on GNOME bsc#1190288 * Somewhat https://doc.opensuse.org/release-notes/x86_64/openSUSE/Leap/15.3/release.not... is missing, switch to Tumbleweed's release-notes.rpm for the time being in Leap's medium, otherwise the shortcut setup in installer will be changed then broke openQA testing lkocman: I'll check on this with docs team, also for 15.4 ## Guillaume - Arm Tumbleweed: * Was blocked in openQA due to a problem on KDE related to the kwin5 update. Fixed with https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/925992 so next snapshot should be ok. * Sporadic BTRFS bug is back with kernel 5.14: http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1160604 Lubos: to check on the issue Leap 15.4: * covered in Leap section above WSL: Stalled: WIP to have WSL on aarch64 on https://build.opensuse.org/project /show/home:Guillaume_G:WSL WSL: meeting today. I'd like to make some final decision on the publish with static url. Yes/No. todo: lkocman to write a blog post how Update: the feature for staticurl offering was passed to Michal Svec. firstboot-wizzard from imported tar.xz archive would not be executed. We have to do some research what would be fine from UX perspective. ## Sarah - s390x * Multiple enabled packages for s390x lkocman: should we enable Leap 15.4 in the project? * Approved Linux Distribution Working Group together with Fedora at the Open Mainframe Project: https://github.com/openmainframeproject/tac/issues/277 Goals: Better support for s390x specific bugs by IBM, collaboration, help for specific distribution ports * openSUSE Tumbleweed tests are failing because a LLVM issue (race condition) in the build of PostgreSQL11 and Rust: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1190740 ## Doug * openSUSE Conference (looking at ZBau and dates - June 2 -4) Physical! * looking at jeos respins * Survey.o.o. * packagers and maintainers 145 partial, 62 full, total 207 * openSUSE, GNU Health, Raspberry Pi article * software.o.o workshop ready * StarFive Technology is about to release a new RISC-V SBC this week and plans to port openSUSE to this board ## Dirk Super available, nothing to report. ## Gerald, DocB Gerald participated on and off experiencing interesting technical issues (using two different ISPs even, initially not hearing anyone and the Jitsi connection breaking regularly, despite a stable Internet connection). (mute and disabled camera works for me). Do we have a landing page or something for users to check for major known issues before upgrading Tumbleweed? DocB: recommendation is to subscribe to factory@l.o.o Otherwise it sounds like a good idea, the question would be who maintains it. Gerald: Following factory@ is not sufficient since bugs are expected to go into Bugzilla plus it can be a little heavy / off topic for casual users (more so than regular contributors). ## Wolfgang (Package Hub), Scott Bahling Not available ## Maintenance team (Marina or Marcus) Display status of SLES updates to community ( https://code.opensuse.org/leap/features/issue/30). Marina: Next call planned on week 45. Firefox update planned to be released in next days. Should fix weird webrtc issues. sle_version 15.3 was staged as a separate update for opensuse-leap- release package. Max will backport this for 15.4 (todo will check) Quite a backlog, since the source review was not working. Release of a big chromium update. (aarch64 builds take more than single day). Please fork yast2-theme in Leap 15.4, marcus prepared an update for yast2-theme in 15.3 Update, to be released today if possible. https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1190478 ## Adrian - CtLG or openSUSE Step Not available ## Pavel Not available - https://progress.opensuse.org/projects/opensuse-leap-15-4/issues/gantt Cleanup in progress by Pavel, Max and Fabian
