Running factory I have run into a lot of problems with factory on T400. The machine just shows a blank screen after passing the initial stage. gdm never gets loaded. If I boot via failsafe mode, the boot stops at the console level, then I manually have to start the network and xdm service. In failsafe mode, once the gnome-screensaver kicks in (idle, machine locked etc.), the contents of the screen are shown overlapping with the screensaver. Everything works fine with a 11.3 livecd in this machine (including desktop effects). I did a `zypper dup` and none of the existing users play video files with sound (VLC, Totem). If I create a new user, VLC plays with sound. gnome-panel consistently crashes for all the old users. It works fine for new users though. If I can get the debuginfo rpm for gnome-panel, I can give the stacktrace of the crash. What debug information do you require for this ?
