[opensuse-factory] 11.2 GM WHERE
Right i am seeing people on about just updating or installing 11.2 GM but for the life of me i can not find it so unless it is some great secret WHERE the dickens is it hiding . Also i have RC2 on the laptop if i try a "zypper up" OR "zypper dup" the result is the same "Nothing to do" Pete . -- Powered by openSUSE 11.2 Milestone 2 (x86_64) Kernel: 2.6.30-rc6-git3-4- default KDE: 4.2.86 (KDE 4.2.86 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090514)) "release 1" 00:15 up 3 days 9:41, 3 users, load average: 1.20, 0.93, 0.72
Is there any RC2 in /etc/SuSE-release? If you updated your system yesterday you probably already have GM. Regards. On Tue, Nov 10, 2009 at 10:19 PM, Peter Nikolic <p.nikolic1@btinternet.com> wrote:

I was quite surprised to see a 2.6.32-rc5 kernel installed with the dup from rc2 to GM; however, my joy was immediately quashed when I discovered that CONFIG_B43_PHY_LP was not set in that configuration. Was this a deliberate decision, or just an oversight? There are a lot of Broadcom BCM4312 devices that work when that device is configured. Otherwise, they need to install the out-of-kernel wl driver with all the attendant problems. When you really have the .32 kernel, then you have the factory repo and not 11.2 GM. Maybe this explains it. Daniel

Yes, when I looked at my repos, I found the factory one was enabled. I'll probably have to reinstall. Anyone know which packages I should replace? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Disabling the Factory repo and redoing 'zypper dup' seems to be restoring the proper stuff for 11.2 GM. I think that the new zypper is great. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

This also caught me bad. Especially as dm_crypt seems not to work correct in that kernel and my laptop uses full disk encryption ... Regards, Matthias

If you have 2.6.32-rc5, you're running factory and not openSUSE 11.2, Please report a bug against openSUSE 11.3 if something is missing in the factory kernel, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, Program Manager openSUSE, aj@{novell.com,opensuse.org} Twitter: jaegerandi | Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

Upgrading is easy - just a matter of 'zypper dup'. A fresh install of 11.2 can be performed using the latest NET iso available, or from at least one mirror containing the ISOs (please don't ask what that repo is ;-) - wait until Thursday like everybody else).

If you have the 11.2 repo[1] added, enabled, and refreshed, then you prolly are already running 11.2 GM.
