[opensuse-factory] online updates in beta3
Hi! We have something new to test for beta3: - check if after doing online updates your libzypp changelog has the following entry: * Fr Sep 07 2007 - schubi@suse.de - RequirementIsMet: return true only if ALL Atoms are NOT incomplete; Bug 308252 If it doesn't, please attach the test case generated by zypper up --debug-solver But only do so if your beta3 isn't known to be broken in other ways :) Thanks, Stephan --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I tested again with a *clean* installation using the KDE 1-CD installation media in a vmware session. During installation I deseleceted to add online repositories, the rest was a default installation without changing anything. Registration went well, online update source was configured, patches are shown when calling "zypper pch", but marked as "not applicable"
If it doesn't, please attach the test case generated by zypper up --debug-solver
I will attach it to the bug. Further findings: - after updating libzypp manually using "zypper in libzypp", updates are shown, so the bug has been fixed in libzypp - updates do not use delta RPMs (kernel update, kdepim update), neither using zypper, nor yast - downloading the kernel rpm does not show a progress bar, seeing in the logfile: 2007-09-08 15:54:08 <2> vmware(20133) [ui] YProgressBar.cc(changeWidget):88 Too big value 100 for progress bar ( max is 2 ) 2007-09-08 15:54:08 <2> vmware(20133) [ui] YProgressBar.cc(changeWidget):88 Too big value 100 for progress bar ( max is 2 ) 2007-09-08 15:54:08 <2> vmware(20133) [ui] YProgressBar.cc(changeWidget):88 Too big value 100 for progress bar ( max is 2 ) 2007-09-08 15:54:13 <2> vmware(20133) [ui] YProgressBar.cc(changeWidget):88 Too big value 5 for progress bar ( max is 2 ) 2007-09-08 15:54:18 <2> vmware(20133) [ui] YProgressBar.cc(changeWidget):88 Too big value 10 for progress bar ( max is 2 ) 2007-09-08 15:54:22 <2> vmware(20133) [ui] YProgressBar.cc(changeWidget):88 Too big value 15 for progress bar ( max is 2 ) Should I file bugreports for those issues or are they known? Looks like it tries to update toe total progress instead of the download progress. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=309127

Now that is has been fixed according to the bug entry (not verified yet) I wonder if the "deltarpm" package will be included in the 1CD installation media. AFAIK it is needed for the deltarpm functionality but it is missing in the beta3 KDE CD. It's only 169K... Maybe it's also worth to add a requirement for the libzypp rpm. What do you think? cheers, Robin --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
