Hello gents, I'd like to introduce you nested editor (nested) which is an specialized editor focused on structured documents you can read more about it in the project's about page: http://nestededitor.sourceforge.net/about.html it is basically a python-gtk/python-webkitgtk editor using txt2tags as markup language written in python, and according to upstream/vendor it needs python > 2.6 and also textlive to export or publish documents in tex/pdf and is also capable of export them as html, also the website is made with it. As you may notice it is focused to aid users not familiar with markup languages or tex tools to publish documents with advanced formatting. You can also check the complete list of features in the project website. In tech terms is basically written in python and with very few build requirements so it shouldn't be difficult to maintain.
