Re: [opensuse-factory] New Tumbleweed snapshot 20160225 released!
I have a question about the modified branding...During startup the plymouth theme is much more black then before. The blue-ish stripes spreads only about 50% of the screen width. About 25% left and right are simply black. Is this by intention? Should I open a bug and attach a pic of the screen? best regards, Robby.

That's by intention, should be equal to the Leap boot splash. Compared to the previous one it has no sharp edges when the image ends, but just 'fafes out' to black - thus making it possible to keep one image for basically every resolution - and you seem to have a rather high res screen if there is so much black left. Thanx for your swift reply, seems that you are working on openSUSE 24h/7d a week :-) Good to know that all is fine with it and why. On Samstag, 27. Februar 2016 13:40:47 CET Dominique Leuenberger / DimStar wrote:

"rather high res" is relative ;-) - the bootsplash looks similar to what Robby describes (25% black both left and right of the image, and also black areas above and below) on my full HD (1920x1080) display. I'd say that's quite common nowadays for new displays. So maybe we should deliver a slightly ;-) bigger bootsplash image? Regards, Christian Boltz -- No, you are wrong here. Typical user does not even know how to start command line, and of course is not aware of "zypper" or how to understand "zypper ps" output. Subscribers to -devel lists are in no way typical users. Intertesting that at the time of Leap (like 3 months ago?) this was considered the right resolution... might be the difference between 'users caring for stability' and 'geek having the best and wanting to see it all'. Let's see what we can come up with... Cheers, Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
