PackMan does not yet provide packages for openSUSE 11.2, does it? I'd suggest to disable this repo. It will try to link against old libs.
Note: This is a refresh install from last Sunday after a "zypper dup" (or two).

for VLC the problem is 'almost' solved.. I have 4 more packages in the build queue before I can sync it out. Factory no longer provides libiso9660.so.5. It moved on to libiso9660.so.7. I expect to be able to sync the VLC repo out this evening. This unfortunately does not solve your issue at hand, sorry for this. I actually just see in this excerpt that you also use the 11.1 repository for the VLC repo. This is not recommended at all! Change the repo for VLC to http://download.videolan.org/pub/vlc/SuSE/11.2 I just verified and the problem is actually solved already a while back (the switch on libiso9660 was not as recent as I believed at first). Thank you for pointing that out (and for the rapid comebacks!) - I think that a fresh install the best move for me now. Regards James -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Nah, I don't think you'll have to reinstall for this.. simply disable the 11.1 repos (packman), change the VLC repo to it's 11.2 counterpart and issue a zypper dup. (Careful: make sure to read and understand the implications of the packages to be removed.. there will be packages removed!).
