I totally agree with you... I don't know what is worse: waiting for 3G download, or waiting for the delta isos to be applied. :) -- % Mauricio Teixeira (netmask) % mteixeira{a}webset{d}net <> Maceio/AL/BR % http://mteixeira.webset.net <> http://pmping.sf.net

It really depends. I have a relatively bad internet connection (and I pay per minute usage), while a fairy good computer, so applying the delta iso takes much less time, and even if it took more, it is much cheaper than downloading everything again or doing always a net install/upgrade. Just so you know: create_package_descr does not work with RC3. makeSUSEdvd uses that as well and therefore does not work with RC3. :-/ houghi -- Nutze die Zeit. Take a new "create_package_descr" out of the RC3 autoyast2 package. This one generates checksum when adding a "-C" option. Ciao, Marcus

I'm just playing bugzilla syncing - maybe this discussion should be continued at https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=166011 ;-) BTW: Why is the -C option necessary? If installation sources with checksums are default/required now, adding the checksum should be the _default_ behaviour. Regards, Christian Boltz -- LDAP! I am trying and testing right now outside of makeSUSEdvd The reason I ask here is because I ask stupid questions that might be more support then problemsolving. e.g. I do the following now: Copy all the content from the first CD to /home/houghi/tmp/makeSUSEdvd I then chmod +w everything I then do a cd /home/houghi/tmp/makeSUSEdvd/suse Next I do `create_package_descr -x setup/descr/EXTRA_PROV -l english -l \ spanish -l french -l german -l czech -l hungarian -l italian -C` After that I cd to /home/houghi/tmp and last but not least `mkisofs -v -V SU100OSS.001 -r -J -l -allow-leading-dots -publisher houghi -b makeSUSEdvd/boot/i386/loader/isolinux.bin -c makeSUSEdvd/boot/i386/loader/boot.cat -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table -graft-points -o SUSE2.iso .` That gives me an error and an unbootable iso. If somebody can tell me where I went wrong, I would be very gratefull. As soon as I have something that looks like feedback, I will put it in bugzilla.
BTW: Why is the -C option necessary? If installation sources with checksums are default/required now, adding the checksum should be the _default_ behaviour.
My thoughts as well. houghi -- Nutze die Zeit. Sie ist das Kostbarste, was wir haben, denn es ist unwiederbringliche Lebenszeit. Leben ist aber mehr als Werk und Arbeit, und das Sein wichtiger als das Tun - Johannes Müller-Elmau

That gives me an error and an unbootable iso.
OK. I now do: mkisofs -V SU101DVD.001 -r -J -l -allow-leading-dots -publisher ' SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Nuernberg, Germany' -b boot/i386/loader/isolinux.bin -c boot/i386/loader/boot.cat -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table -graft-points -o SUSE-10.1-0-DVD.iso makeSUSEdvd/ I get a bootable ISO, but still the same error. So I get the signed packages file and now what? I still get the `No catalog found` error. http://en.opensuse.org/Secure_Installation_Sources is absolutely unclear (to me) on what to do. houghi -- Nutze die Zeit.
