[opensuse-factory] Some Systemd Info
In case anyone wants some information that is a little bit easier to read, for those who want to know the basics of systemd, here's some information about it from another distro (Chakra), that is planning to switch to it in the near future. http://www.chakra-project.org/wiki/index.php/Systemd This is just an FYI! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Something to be aware of: Warning: systemd does not support /usr on a separate partition. You will not be able to boot without libdbus accessible on the root partition. -- I'd say we would need to move libdbus to /lib...., since I don't know about others, but I have separate partitions for: / /boot /home /tmp /usr /usr/share /var /var/cache /var/cache/squid & a few others for data & backups... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Whoa, sounds like a serious case of compulsive partition hoarding syndrome. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Do you know about Linda's use cases to issue such a definitive statement? While I have clashed with Linda in former times, this looks rather valid from a server admin perspective. I have lots of (rather large big iron) customers who have even more specific filesystem partitioning requirements for very good reasons, backed up by real-life use cases. Driven mostly by two requirements "put anything that could fill up and disturb other services on one file system" and "share common data via net file system (meaning mostly EMC or NetApp appliances, with loads of special performance configurations for themselves.)"
