[opensuse-factory] Looking for a help on development of https://software.opensuse.org
Hello openSUSE! The person who took care of most of the requests for software-o- o (The source of http://software.opensuse.org) recently moved to a different team. I'm currently the default bug owner but I don't have the time nor enough of ruby-skills to drive the development and propose some future design etc. My duties on the project are regular changes to mirror the state and releases of openSUSE Leap and handle site deployments. So I'm mainly looking for help on the issue backlog and then perhaps drive some future UI development. Please reach out to me if you'd be interested. Shortly About the project: openSUSE/software-o-o (source of https://software.opensuse.org/) The Backlog is 91 items. The project is written in Ruby. It has some neat release configuration that allows you to e.g. shift release from testing -> GA (or opposite) at a particular time. Any changes can be easily tested by every contributor in a container that can be built locally. How is the project built? Test change locally in a container, Send Merge request to https://github.com/openSUSE/software-o-o # updates source and generates changelog # has to be executed in a checkout of openSUSE:infrastructure:software.opensuse.org/software_opensuse_org ``` $ osc service runall $ osc sr ``` Production build happens here https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:infrastructure:software.ope... A few resolved bugs can be found also on the following link under the Category "Software portal" https://progress.opensuse.org/projects/opensuse-admin/ I didn't know about the progress-o-o part until very recently. So this path was not used for any deployments or so, but I think it should be. I'm currently the default bug owner for issues reported against the Software portal under the opensuse-admin project. Deployments should be done by heroes, or me since I'll be the default bug owners for progress-o-o ticket, which I suppose will be mainly used for deployment requests. Otherwise, I do not see value in having the progress-o-o as the project mainly uses Github issues. -- Best regards Luboš Kocman Release Manager openSUSE Leap SUSE Software Solutions Germany GmbH Maxfeldstr. 5 90409 Nuremberg Germany (HRB 36809, AG Nürnberg) Managing Director: Felix Imendörffer

I am, but there is a PR where we are waiting for your comment on the metadata format change, since we needed to have metadata structured per release instead of per date ;) https://github.com/openSUSE/software-o-o/pull/745 That will also enable us to have PackageKit upgrades with automatic release detection and notifications in Leap. Thanks to the work done by jkang.
