-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all: Now I download delta.isos alpha2 to create cds and after a dvd iso 10.1-alpha2. Normaly I burn the image to dvd but I think that if I can update all the system with yast or apt and mounting dvd image I prefers this last way. Is possible this? How could I do it? Hi Chema, mount the image on your "server", export it via nfs, go to your clients, add a YaST installation source, pointing to the nfs export, go to the list of all packages and choose "All in this list - Update". -- mdc

Hi Chema,
mount the image on your "server", export it via nfs, go to your clients, add a YaST installation source, pointing to the nfs export, go to the list of all packages and choose "All in this list - Update".
If the ISOs are on the same PC, you can even go without NFS-Server. Start the installation from the first CD (you can take alpha1 CD). Bevor performing the real installation switch with Alt-F2 to console and create a directory for the loop-mount of CD1 mkdir /CD1 make a directory for the partition, where the ISOs are and loopmount it mkdir /isos mount -o loop /isos/SUSE.... /CD1 eject the CD and switch to the Installation (Alt-F1/F7?). YaST will now complain, that there is no CD in the drive. Mark the option 'Show details' and change the URL to dir:///CD1 After reboot, you have to do the same for CD2, CD3, CD4 and CD5. It sounds more complex, than it really is and installation is very fast this way. Hi Marcel Yes,i seems more complex.I really think about something like this: 1- mount dvd 2- add this dir on yast-source (installation-source) and 3- update from yast (System Update) Is it posssible? Cheers

I don't think so, as the version number is 10.1 for both Systems. But you can add the new installation source and then choose 'Install if newer version is available' in YaST package manager.
I prefer doing a clean install, as it also finds problems for the installation workflow. If you only want to have a look at KDE, then the update is the better solution.
