[opensuse-factory] Beta3 on vmware: no hard disks found
Hello, when trying to install Beta3 (x86_64) on a vmware machine, I get the error message "No hard disks were found for the installation" and the installation fails. This seems strange to me since on the same machine Beta2 was installable without problems. Can anyone reproduce this? I had a similar issue with VMware Server. First it complained about missing hard disks, then it complained about needing to create a swap file or partition. I simply removed my VM from disk and created a new one. Everything went fine after that. -- Christopher M. What version of vmware are you using? If it is a very old one, we took a patch out of our kernel that was rejected by upstream as vmware fixed the problem on their end. If it is not an old version, please let us know. thanks, greg k-h --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Currently I do not have access to the machine on which I tested beta3, but I suppose that the vmware installation has not been updated for quite a while. When I am back at the machine, I will perform an update and retry.
