krdc has been seriously broken since plasma6 reached TW, meanwhile xfreerdp has no problems connecting. This is still true as of 20240430. It seems that users of other distros have had success going back from krdc version 24.02 to 23.8. Any way that krdc 23.8 could be made available again ? Previously I reported that krdc just displayed a blue screen on connection but that was with 20240329 it has gotten worse with new builds. Now it just segfaults but there seem to be multiple issues related to the breakage. joe@twlatest:~> krdc rdp://joe@rdptemp kf.coreaddons: The plugin "/usr/lib64/qt6/plugins/krdc/libkrdc_rdpplugin.so" explicitly states an Id in the embedded metadata, which is different from the one derived from the filename The Id field from the KPlugin object in the metadata should be removed kf.coreaddons: The plugin "/usr/lib64/qt6/plugins/krdc/libkrdc_testplugin.so" explicitly states an Id in the embedded metadata, which is different from the one derived from the filename The Id field from the KPlugin object in the metadata should be removed kf.coreaddons: The plugin "/usr/lib64/qt6/plugins/krdc/libkrdc_vncplugin.so" explicitly states an Id in the embedded metadata, which is different from the one derived from the filename The Id field from the KPlugin object in the metadata should be removed qt.core.qobject.connect: QObject::connect: No such signal KBookmarkManager::changed(QString,QString) Segmentation fault (core dumped) -- Regards, Joe

It looks like the id issue may be addressed with this commit, however, it is from 03/27/2024 so I would have expected it to hit TW by now https://github.com/KDE/krdc/commit/6ba6edcaeffc480c6bd6ff14131a310753e42cf6 -- Regards, Joe

That commit is only in the 24.05 beta (24.04.80). So it'll be a bit before it shows up in TW. -- 真実はいつも一つ!/ Always, there's only one truth!

Thanks for that info Neal. That's kind of why I suggested rolling back to the 23.8 version which users on other distros seem to have had success with, especially since it krdc has been pretty much broken for over a month. I setup 2 VMs which are updated to the latest TW whenever it comes out to test and it is still broken as of 20240430. -- Regards, Joe
