[opensuse-factory] kernel-source-2.6.25-rc7.git2.HEAD_20080327201225.x86_64.rpm

Trying to install kernel-source-2.6.25-rc7.git2.HEAD_20080327201225.x86_64.rpm on 10.3 with rpm-4.4.2-140 gives me: rpm -i --force /home/mk/kernel-source-2.6.25-rc7.git2.HEAD_20080327201225.x86_64.rpm error: Failed dependencies: rpmlib(PayloadIsLzma) <= 4.4.2-1 is needed by kernel-source-2.6.25-rc7.git2.HEAD_20080327201225.x86_64 The previous KOTD ( 2.6.25-rc6-git5-HEAD_20080326045029) didn't have that dependency . Is that a packaging error ? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Perhaps you missed the earlier post from Stephan: *************************************************************** Hi, I kind of hinted it already, but we finally made the switch: rpm is using lzma payload now: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-commit/2008-03/msg01081.html Expect a painful transistion phase. We found already quite some places where we needed to install newer tools and I'm waiting for more to come. But it's really worth it. No, Factory got a new rpm (will be synced out when the rebuild is complete) and it seems the KOTD is build against that rpm. I guess it would be feasible for the KOTD to be build with %define _binary_payload w9.bzdio in the spec file to avoid that dependency. That would be nice. I tried to build the new version of rpm on SUSE-10.3 from the src.rpm this afternoon. But that src.rpm has a nasty indirect dependency on a new version of gettext, which I don't want to install on 10.3. So I installed that rpm by booting into factory, mounting the 10.3 installation to /mnt of factory and using --root /mnt option of rpm. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
