[opensuse-factory] New Tumbleweed snapshot 20170418 released!
Please note that this mail was generated by a script. The described changes are computed based on the x86_64 DVD. The full online repo contains too many changes to be listed here. Please check the known defects of this snapshot before upgrading: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/overview?distri=opensuse&groupid=1&version=Tumbleweed&build=20170418 When you reply to report some issues, make sure to change the subject. Adding "nomodeset" to the kernel command line is always a way to get a desktop when the driver is broken. Larry -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
Hi I'm now left with no video after this snapshot. I was using nouveau. I can't even install nvidia driver, it crashes and burns during install. I did have one login (out of 4) working at one stage after the download and in the display settings of systemsettings5 it was set to use Xrender (not sure how as i thought all my logins were using opengl3.1), i stupidly changed it to OpenGL3.1 and that was the last time it worked. Now i'm completely up the creek without a paddle. Anyone know how to manually change this configuration back to xrender? regards Ian -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Hey,
set Backend=XRender in ~/.config/kwinrc
Greetings, Fabian Thanks Fabian. I also applied Cor Blom's solution and that seem to restore everything

I had the same, without autologin. For me removing Mesa-dri-nouveau got me a working desktop again. Cor -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Cor Has the performance of your desktop gone back 200 years? Mine works but it is not smooth and judders a lot now since the snapshot install and your fix
