[opensuse-factory] Leap 15.0 Beta - unresolvable: nothing provides vpnc needed by NetworkManager-vpnc
Hello, all! I'm trying to build a live image based on Leap 15.0 Beta at OBS, here are a few lines of appliance.kiwi: <packages type="image" patternType="plusRecommended"> <!-- Clean openSUSE Leap 15.0 install with GNOME desktop --> <!-- http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/15.0/repo/oss/control.xml --> <package name="patterns-base-base"/> <package name="patterns-base-x11"/> <package name="patterns-gnome-gnome"/> <package name="gdm"/> </packages> Full: https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/home:kamarada:15.0:dev/Linux-Ka... But it fails with unresolvable: nothing provides vpnc needed by NetworkManager-vpnc I believe that is a Leap 15.0 issue (not OBS nor KIWI), that's why I addressed this e-mail to opensuse-factory. Just as a test, I tried to zypper in NetworkManager-vpnc on my notebook and I got nothing provides vpnc needed by NetworkManager-vpnc. I've read another thread about dropping VPNC, but that focused on why it was dropped (or should not be dropped) and whether it still works or not. Here, I want to call attention to a package management issue: if I understood well, vpnc was already dropped and there is no way back on that decision, so why not drop NetworkManager-vpnc as well? Also, any reference to the vpnc package (requires/recommends/suggests vpnc) should be removed. Any help with that would be really appreciated. Thank you! And keep up the good work with Leap 15.0! Actually vpnc is *not* dropped yet in Factory/Tumbleweed, the delete request is still pending ("awaiting discussion"): https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/592186 Same for NetworkManager-vpnc: https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/592187 In Leap 15.0, the delete request for vpnc has been accepted already though. https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/591168 A delete request for NetworkManager-vpnc has been filed by lnussel yesterday, but revoked again with the comment "maybe we revive vpnc...". https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/593777 Kind Regards, Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It seems that vpnc is revived for Leap 15.0: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Leap:15.0/vpnc Regards, Frank -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
