[opensuse-factory] Ok to remove Tumbleweed repositories from devel projects?
Hi, I'd like to know if it's OK to remove all Tumbleweed repositories from devel projects now when Factory can be used as a replacement. I think Tumbleweed is going to be removed from OBS, but I'm not opposed to some grace period before people get the chance to switch from it. This is nothing against TW, I've been using it for a long time. I'm concerned about unnecessary builds and removing work from devel maintainers. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Who said that? Have I missed some discussions on this? Regards, Johannes - -- Don't buy into bullshit. Don't admire false icons. We are just humans, not heroes. This is my conclusion from the "The future of Tumbleweed" thread some time ago, mostly based on Greg's claim "Ideally, Tumbleweed will die with the use of Factory in its place." but was not main point of my question and I don't care about TW as far as it does not bring nontrivial work to me. My question about devel repos has been answered. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

That condition isn't true yet (and I remain unconvinced it will ever be), so it looks like you're jumping the gun. TW is not being dropped, unless its developers decide to kill it; and even then there will be really huge announcement :) It is always up to the decision of project maintianers themselves againts what versions they want to build. If you don't want to build against TW in your devel project it is certainly in your power to remove that repo. But if it does not add some extra work I would say it does not hurt that much. Cheers Tom
