Skip graphical welcome-message of SL/SLES 10
Hi, how can I skip the graphical preboot welcome-message (with all the different languages) of SL 10.1/SLES 10rc1? Unfortunately this hangs the HVM-Xen-installation so that I'm not able to install SuSE Linux as HVM-guest on the system! Thanks a lot, -- Chau y hasta luego, Thorolf

Activate caps lock before it is displayed. If this doesn't help, additionally hold shift while booting. Please add a comment to https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=166930 or open a new bugreport if you think your problem is different. Sie fragten, was ich mit 30 MB wolle, die bekomme ich doch nie voll. ;) Meine jetzige Graphikkarte hat mehr. ;)) [Bernd Brodesser in suse-linux]
Hi,
Activate caps lock before it is displayed. If this doesn't help, additionally hold shift while booting. I'll try this if I've finished the SL installation for a domU I'm doing into directory right now.
Please add a comment to https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=166930 or open a new bugreport if you think your problem is different. It's mostly the same error but it happens on VT-hardware with Xen when I try to install SL 10.1 or SLES 10.0 as HVM-guest!
I had this error already during beta-status of SL and SLES on a Intel Bensley-system (Xeon dual-cpu, dual-core, AM64T, HT, VT) and now on a Intel Pentum D 930 with SL 10.1 and SELS 10.0RC1! If I find time I'll also will create a bugzilla-account for me to put my comment there, but right now I have to finish my work first! -- Chau y hasta luego, Thorolf
Hi,
Activate caps lock before it is displayed. If this doesn't help, additionally hold shift while booting. I tried this but it's quite hard to get pressed the key(s) during the very short period the VM-BIOS is shown but I think I was fast enough several times. Anyway it didn't help!
Now I tried to make an installation directly with Qemu 0.81 (the Qemu-version in Xen is quite old) and there it works. I also get the green lines on the top of the screen and the rest is white, but only for a second, then comes the "international welcome preboot-screen" and after that the boot-menu! So it seems that my problem is more Xen, specificly Qemu-related! -- Chau y hasta luego, Thorolf

See bug 175473. There is presently a limitation in the Xen guest when running on Intel VMX ('Vanderpool'). Steffen
