[opensuse-factory] compiz, gnome and emerald
I'm running gnome and enabled the compiz stuff but I cannot figure out how to use emerald for window manager instead of metacity... Any suggestions? Not quite sure what you mean - compiz is a window manager and if you enabled Desktop Effects it should be running. ps ax | grep compiz on the command line to check after you log in. -JP -- JP Rosevear <jpr@novell.com> Novell, Inc. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
The desktop effects are working fine but I'd like to use emerald instead of metacity to decorate the windows - not sure what kind of programs they are -. I haven't found any way to do that... Erik.

Metacity is the default gnome window manager, if compiz is running, its not. The default window decorator under GNOME is gtk-window-decorator. You probably want to install compiz-emerald and go from there. -JP -- JP Rosevear <jpr@novell.com> Novell, Inc. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
