Fwd: [opensuse-factory] Packaging Orthanc
Oh you already selected the medical project, which makes sense. Sorry for the noise.
There is no "medical" in the drop-down list at the top of https://build.opensuse.org/stage/project/status?project=openSUSE%3AFactory - is it really a devel project? Thats a good point. Looks like indeed its not a devel project. But nothing prevents us from setting it as a devel project once orthanc is in. Finding an active maintainer for the medical project might be hard though. Most packages look unmaintained. Regards, ismail

That is only natural, and a project like "agriculture" would suffer the same issue. It has to do with the specialty of field. Only mathematics really is well-maintained, because it is the one science all other (natural) sciences depend on :-) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks for your feedback! As "medical" is not a devel project and as it's my first packaging attempt for openSUSE, I fear I will face difficulties by not having an active maintainer to ask questions to. As a consequence, I think it would indeed be a better idea to stick to "science". Actually, I'm working on Medical, as I would like to see some of the main packages included in Factory. If you need something, just ask. Regards. Hi Benjamin,
As "medical" is not a devel project and as it's my first packaging attempt for openSUSE, I fear I will face difficulties by not having an active maintainer to ask questions to.
As a consequence, I think it would indeed be a better idea to stick to "science".
Actually, I'm working on Medical, as I would like to see some of the main packages included in Factory. If you need something, just ask.
Great! Good to know someone is involved in the "medical" project. I will therefore stick to the initial plan (i.e. work in "medical" instead of "science"), even if "medical" is not currently a devel project. I have a first question: To create a new package, should I install Tumbleweed or Factory? This is quite unclear in the documentation of the packaging process. Thanks, Sébastien- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks, Sébastien- Install whatever you want. It doesn't depend on your production system. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
