All meeting minutes can be found here: https://etherpad.opensuse.org/p/ReleaseEngineering-meeting ## Participants Dominique Leuenberger, Lubos Kocman, Max Lin, Michel Normand, Doug, Tomas, Ludwig, Guillaume Gardet ## Leap Leap switched to the RC phase last Friday. I'm Looking through high priority bugs and remaining issues in progress-o-o. Counter for opensuse.org is no longer handled through the https://github.com/openSUSE/countdown.o.o repo. lcp will look into it. Todo: Lubos to send a notification to the opensuse-factory@ regarding when will start submitting requests against :Update . ## openSUSE Tumbleweed * Tumbleweed has been switched to GCC10 as default compiler * Qt updated to 5.15 * KDE applications 20.04.1 ## ddemaio * Jump and Leap videos online * Editing Virtual Summit videos * openSUSE + LibreOffice Conference will move online. Decision made by organizers (CfP will remain open on events.o.o.). News about the shift to online will be released next week * sway talk got popularity (we might want to fucus on this). Lubos to reach out to Dennis about next steps. ## Dirk Not available. ## Guillaume Tumbleweed: * Waiting for 1st snapshot with GCC10 in openQA. * Some build failures due to GCC10 switch, same magnitude as x86, but spotted few failures specific to aarch64. Leap 15.2: * Bug on shutdown with gnome, fixed by systemd update * New bug on LXDE (already encountered in Tumbleweed): https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1171714 lkocman: ^ can we consider https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1155888 closed? (One of a very few P1s) ## Gerald Excused himself ## Max * We did remove Beta mark last week * During the last weekend Max merged Mesa 19 which requires llvm9. We have a duplicate binaries issues on Leap. Because fo Mesa we've applied Factory solution - default llvm switched to llvm9. This would be a temporary solution until we have unified binaries with SLE in 15.3. http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1164454 * Automated update from Factory has been disabled in openSUSE Leap 15.2. * Build failures are going down, currently 34 build failures, 5 unresolvables, we had more than 100 before switch to RC. * Leap missing appstream data on online repo, on investigating https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1172416 lkocman: let's make sure that all package removals after RC are part of release-notes. max: We're trying to fix all first before removing them. ## Adrian - Jump On vacation lkocman: Update on Jump will be shared on Friday. Discussion with maintenance is tomorrow. ## Michel PowerPC openQA tests I have to analyse for Leap and TW new failures on OBS many build failures (probably gcc change related) ## Richard No update ## Tom openSUSE Leap 15.2 in RC -> Fixing all the remaining unresolvable/failed packages openSUSE Tumbleweed * Preparing plan to provide multiple python3 interpreters at once (think py3.8 and py3.9 at once) * openSSL 3.0 in Staging:O -> surprisingly there are wee bit failures around ## Wolfgang Not present ## Ludwig MicroOS 15.2 armv-7 (rpi2) works now as well next to aarch64 Boot time is an issue on arm: first boot initrd takes forever to load on arm (60MB), btrfs-maintenance , wicked with long timeouts. lkocman: I have received several complains/concerns about wicked recently. A bug on 15 codestream, where a plugging-in of USB printer does not involve gnome dialog to install the correct driver. https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1172407 ## Overview of Commmunity SLE Feature Requests (See details in https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Leap/SLEFeatureRequests ) (This section will be newly part of ReleaseEngineering meeting minutes) * lqxt-build-tools update to 0.7.0 (PM-1914) - Pending TPM Evaluation - Not shipped in SLE, no ECO needed. Pending TPM evaluation and Submission. - Pinged SLE RM to move it from Evaluation state * add authselect for managing auth stack configuration (PM-1881) - Pending PM Evaluation - Aiming for 15 SP3 - Pinged PM: First PM questions are: Leap 16?, Do we have authconfig?, * Update python-typing_extensions to 3.7.4 (PM-1833) - 1/2 DONE - Submissions against 15 SP2 are ready - python-typing https://build.suse.de/request/show/218052, superseded byhttps://build.suse.de/request/show/218607 Accepted - python-typing_extensions https://build.suse.de/request/show/218102 under review - pinged maintainer and TL - Still under review on Staging:C * Update purple-rocketchat to version 0.0+hg20200403 (PM-1829) - Done - Accepted https://build.suse.de/request/show/219209 * Update libcdio required by python-pycdio 2.1.0 and whipper (PM-1801) - Next release - Will be deferred to the next release (15 SP3) as it does not qualify as a SLE 15 SP2 RC phase request. Change requires rebuild of underlying dependencies. Namely: cdio-utils.spec, ffmpeg.spec, gstreamer-plugins-ugly.spec, gvfs.spec, libcddb.spec, libcdio, paranoia.spec, libcdio.spec, vcdimager.spec

That's written in a somewhat unclear way, I'll add two comments: - Huh? https://countdown.opensuse.org/ disagrees ;-) - There's also a separate countdown on www.o.o which is a javascript on www.o.o. Now pick whatever is correct ;-) Regards, Christian Boltz -- Fsck, I'm remembering back to the pre-archived-by-Google era of Usenet; some local newbie was asking how to compile RM COBOL programs in the Unix environment, and my anti-COBOL bias might have shown through as I explained that the RM COBOL compiler on Unix was named "rm".
