[opensuse-factory] netconfig doesn't write what's in /etc/sysconfig/network/config to /etc/resolv.conf
Hi, I am on Beta 2 and netconfig doesn't seem to be writing what I have defined in /etc/sysconfig/network/config to /etc/resolv.conf. Anyone else seeing this behavior? What exactly is missing? Please file a bug and add all the details to it. Best, Christoph -- Christoph Thiel, Tech. I did file a bug report. It was closed as a feature. I guess netconfig isn't supposed to read from /etc/sysconfig/network/, maybe man pages should be updated for netconfig(8). Also, it should reflect to show which should be changed. BTW. YaST updates /etc/sysconfig/network/config, which is invalid (that should either change the correct file, or be depreciated, this will cause lots of confusion). You are asking for a feature in NetworkManager. Netconfig is working correctly. You might want to switch off NetworkManager and use netcontrol instead, which would then take your settings from /etc/sysconfig/network/config. Best, Christoph On Tue, Oct 14, 2008 at 07:32:20AM -0700, Ben Kevan wrote:

Where is this setting? Also, what .netconfig file is being modified? And if that setting is switched why doesn't YaST then modify the correct file to be read by NetworkManager or netconfig? Thanks.
