For MySQL: switch to Oracle Mysql Community server. MariaDB is a disaster to work with!! Could you be more explicit ? What's the matter with mariadb ? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Its very slow (in my case) there's no (for linux) good working Database management tool for MariaDB. MariaDB could be great for website (apache) ominor stuff, but not for more heavy tasks, Oracle mysql has much better performance with bigger databases...

Might be your setup issue, might be worth to talk to MariaDB folks so they can make it faster if there is a real problem. Anyway, openSUSE has both, so decide for yourself. https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Switching_between_MySQL_variants

MariaDB has the same API so anything that works with MySQL should be able to work with MariaDB as well and so far the best management tool I have seen is phpMyAdmin which works with both :-)

+1 for Johannes comment, stop ranting and trolling and describe the real problem ;-) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

So, why don't you install it then? openSUSE has it.
Oracle Mysql is [...] much easier to download/update etc.
Since both MySQL and MariaDB exist as RPM in openSUSE, they are on the same level of difficulty of installation. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
