[opensuse-factory] [status report] openSUSE distribution, week 21
Hi, Beta3 is tested pretty well, the number of bug reports we see coming in gives a pretty good feeling of it's usage in real life scenarios - some even read the most annoying bugs first :) What's missing is coordinated testing atm - so far only 12 of 207 features are registered as tested, this is a pretty bad ratio. Right now I see 84 critical+blocker for 11.0 - many of them are hardware specifics. I released factory snapshots of USB and CD images - the USB shows just too many USB specific problems to be worthy, so I kind of decided to kill this idea again ;( This week we'll do an internal beta3plus and have another public holiday in Germany, so I think I'll upload new factory snapshots tomorrow and leave you alone for the long weekend :) Greetings, Stephan -- SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Stephan, and what about including in the LiveCD and initrd which supports usb-storage, fat and vfat? Doing that, "converting" a LiveCD into a LiveUSB is easier, as it's only necessary to extract the ISO to a USB and make it bootable... regards, Luiz Fernando --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I'm not aware of kiwi supporting that. Yeah, it could be made with KIWI, but to "convert" an LiveCD to a Live USB using KIWI we have to had the openSUSE installed on the system! At the end of the page http://en.opensuse.org/Live_USB_stick there are 2 links to a page showing how to do the convertion in Fedora and Ubuntu, but searching that page, it lead us to a openSUSE convertion (http://klik.atekon.de/wiki/index.php/CustomizeSUSELive) Its just a suggestion.... regards, Luiz Fernando --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
