Let's end the thread. Cristian is probably right, systemd is probably not to blame. It looks like a syslog-ng bug, it apparently soft-locks around a g_static_mutex_lock(&self->lock); https://bugzilla.novell.com/815746 Followup-to: opensuse-factory. Sorry for the noise, I should have explored this way earlier (But since syslog-ng has been reliable for me for the last >5 years, it did not come to my mind...)
