Hi Marguerite! I will try your suggested solution right now but I'm confident it could do the trick. Wonder why if this bug is 'existing for years' nobody of the maintainers thought to correct it and why it is not mentioned into opensuse documentation as for example https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Cinnamon (which should be a good place). Then I suppose I have to create this symbolic links every time I run a zypper up it isn't ? sure will do.

because I'm still waiting upstream's reply. but it sounds to me upstream either don't care about it (the one replys me on github is Fedora's Cinnamon maintainer) or are not capable of fixing it (as upstream, they even borrow workarounds from openSUSE GNOME team...) although I think the linking issue is easy for a coder (which I'm not one of) to fix...

if upstream can't fix it, I'll create the symlinks in the package. Marguerite -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Creating a file under /etc/ld.so.conf.d with "/usr/lib64/cinnamon" as content would be the "cleaner" fix for this. Use "ldconfig" as root after and the libs should be able to get called. Yes, that should do the trick. Don't forget to either reboot or invoke "ldconfig" as root afterwards. Fabian -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
