Hello List , - how please to adjust in yast , the Bootloader Grub2 to see Large Text for processes whilst booting : 1). Must i use the character-size Top-Box , or the character-size Lower Box ? 2). How to select size-Large ? [ i previously tried selecting "Text" and subsequently was unable to Boot! { something like error 'unrecognized character-code'} ] 3). then presumably i must : Delete "quiet splash=silent" from kernel command line .......... thanks -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

thanks Use the one below. This the setting for console resolution. Setting it to a lower resolution will increase the character size.

This adjusts the screen resolution for Grub2. I always have mine sets to a lower resolution. It depends on your graphics card. I'm using an older GeForce 8600 GTS Nvidia card. My setting is: My screen resolution is 1680x1050 on a 20" monitor. My setting Grub2 fb setting is: 1280x1024 24-bits or 0x31b or vga= 795 The numbers beginning with 0x300 and up have been deprecated. So now the alternate vga numbers are being used. i.e 795 If you find that the Grub2 is freezing up try using a lower number. I never use the same resolution as your regular screen viewing. This setting is just for the boot up process. So top is for screen resolution. Bottom is for console text. Yes. I hope this helps you. -- Cheers!
