Leap 15.4 features, screenshots, release announcements
Hi all, The marketing team is still working on the release announcement and plan to send it out for translation on or about April 20. We need more input from the community about what packages to highlight and new features we will have in openSUSE Leap 15.4. We go over the release announcement during the community meetings. Please visit https://en.opensuse.org/Features_15.4 for the list of features we are highlighting. Feel free to add your package and features, which will help us with some additional information to the release announcement. Also, we would appreciate anyone willing to add screenshots of their desktop and packages they are using to https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:15.4/Screenshots. Musicians, artist, developers, creators please add the things you like to screenshots wiki page https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:15.4/Screenshots v/r Doug

Doug, Will Leap 15.4 really be released with Google Chrome 98? Given the recent flurry of public announcements of a bug in that version. As that bug is being exploited in the wild, I would have expected release 99, which has a fix for that Java bug. Larry

No, some software is there with older versions, like Chromium (98 instead of 99), Python (3.10 instead of 3.9) and more. It will probably need some revision to correct mistakes. Proper packages you can see on http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/15.4/repo/oss/x86_64/

We started the features page a few weeks back and it looks like Chromium has a 99 build from 22 days ago: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Leap:15.4/chromium. As for Python, it looks Python 3.10 was 10 days ago: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Leap:15.4/python310 This will be settled one we are in RC, but I think both of your points help us update the features page, so thank you. v/r Doug Links: ------ [1] https://en.opensuse.org/Features_15.4 [2] https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:15.4/Screenshots
