Installation without import previous user data
Hello everyone, When install TW/Leap, I don't want to import previous user ssh keys. In "Local Uesers" step, the "Import User Data from a Previous Installation" is un-checked as default. But in installation summary step, "import SSH Host Keys and Configuration" is checked as default. So if we do not de-select it, it will import previous ssh keys. Does it conflict with "Local Uesers" step? "Import User Data" means not include ssh keys? I found this is not only happens recently in Tumbleweed, Leap 15.4, 15.5 also have this problem. Thank you. Best regards.

The "SSH Host Keys" are located in /etc/ssh/ssh_host_* and are completely unrelated to users' keys. It is useful to keep host keys, so ssh clients on other machines (that ssh'ed to your machine before) will not get an ugly warning about the changed host key. Ciao Bernhard M.

User SSH keys are stored in the user's home directory, and are not part of the system configuration. The installer doesn't touch anything in the users' home directories. -- Jim Henderson Please keep on-topic replies on the list so everyone benefits
