Re: [opensuse-factory] unexpected freezes
I have the same issue from 4.8.xxx till 4.10.0-1. My graphics card info is:
So it worked with 4.7.x, or you didn't have the machine before 4.8.x?
Searching 0x5916 got this: https://ark.intel.com/products/95442/Intel-Core-i3-7100U-Processor-3M-Cache-... Exactly what model is that HP? How old, less than 8-9 months ago designed, maybe a Kaby Lake? If so, you may need to be asking for help from one of the kernel.org mailing lists or the intel-gfx@lists.freedesktop.org or the xorg@lists.x.org or xorg@freedesktop.org mailing list. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Finally, it is the parameter intel_idle.max_cstate=1 that will stop the freezes. It must be added on bootloader configuration -> Kernel parameter. So far i didn't face any issue and i wish none will show up. On Tue, Feb 28, 2017 at 5:06 PM, Felix Miata <mrmazda@earthlink.net> wrote:
