[opensuse-factory] WARNING: Renaming 'openSUSE Factory' in Bugzilla
Hi All, I'm about to rename 'openSUSE Factory' in Bugzilla so it reads 'openSUSE Tumbleweed' This is for the obvious reason so people know where to file bugs they find with Tumbleweed The system is warning me that once I commit this change "** If you modify the name, all Bugzilla URL links will be broken! **" The only obvious links I can think of are on the wiki https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Submitting_bug_reports I will fix these links when the change goes live But if you have any of your own bookmarks or saved links to Bugzilla that reference the 'openSUSE Factory' product name, please replace Factory with Tumbleweed once this goes live at approximately 5PM Berlin Time today Regards, Richard -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

That will make it more obvious, where to file re Tumbleweed. So now Factory bugs are filed against Tw? 'Factory' is a process, not a product - https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Factory_development_model No human being runs a product called Factory, and therefore there's no need to have a place to file 'Factory bugs' But there is a distribution called Tumbleweed, and our bugzilla should have somewhere for people to put the bugs they find when running our rolling release :) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I agree this change was needed, but let me warn about a side effect you didn't mention: When searching for bugs, I use the "advanced search" mode with my own default query [1] with a selection of some products. Before you renamed Factory, my selection for "Product" was openSUSE 13.1 and openSUSE Factory [2]. After the rename to openSUSE Tumbleweed, only openSUSE 13.1 was selected. In other words: my default search no longer searches for Factory/Tumbleweed bugs. This can be fixed easily by re-enabling openSUSE Tumbleweed in the Product selection and updating the default saved search [1] - but everybody who uses a default search with some Products selected will have to do that. Regards, Christian Boltz [1] saved using the "and remember these as my default search options" checkbox at the bottom of the advanced search page [2] actually some more, but those are not relevant for this mail --
Then many hours later after everyone has gone to sleep: There is no such thing "everyone has gone to sleep", this is a 24/7 community, with people worldwide. [> Archie Cobbs and Cristian Rodríguez in opensuse-buildservice]
