Anybody know when nvidia drivers for kernel 5.7 will be in the updates? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
The fix is in https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/X11:Drivers:Video/nvidia-gfxG05, now the ball is on NVidia's side. On Thu, Jun 18, 2020 at 5:32 PM Chuck Davis <cjgunzel@gmail.com> wrote:

Right. The repo just has been updated. Unfortunately this time it took longer than usually. :-( Thanks, Stefan

The updated driver is available now on NVidias site. Unfortunately we have to expect the same game for 5.8 because 5.8rc1 introduces some changes in kernel API. Patch already availaible at <https:// gitlab.com/snippets/1986228> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks for the patch! I can work on this once my package test builds are failing. Stefan Public Key available ------------------------------------------------------ Stefan Dirsch (Res. & Dev.) For sake of clarity: would these test builds fail _before_ the release of a snapshot introducing kernel v5.8? Thank you in advance. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

These should work without patch for 5.7 an there is <https:// bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1173239>. But the 5.8 patch is still required. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

This depends on how fast our stable kernel gets into Tumbleweed. I'm also test building the kernel module against the former. I'm not asked before a TW snapshot is being released. Right, so then the builds against Kernel:stable should've started failing sometime soon after Jun 3[1], correct? 1: https://build.opensuse.org/package/revisions/Kernel:stable/kernel-source#com... On Thu, Jun 25, 2020 at 10:53 PM Stefan Dirsch <sndirsch@suse.de> wrote:

Could be, yes. I can't rembember when the packages began to fail. Thanks, Stefan

If you want to catch build issues earlier, you can test builds against Kernel:HEAD (which follows rc kernels). Michal (fixed top-posting) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
