[opensuse-factory] 11.2 install on 256Mo ram computer
I want to congratulate the 11.2 developpers. Just now I could install (from kde4 live cd, install from the initial menu) this very new distribution on an old compaq computer with only 256 Mo ram (windows said 248Mo). It lasted 2 hours, mostly due to a very slow cd reader, and there was a little glitch. after the restart, at 67% config, probably on the network config, the install stopped. No network was seen (ifconfig: interface configured but no IP). Removing the eth cable and restarting the install did make it work. There was also a long delay due to cups (no printer connected - but one on the net, may be the problem), but then all finished and work very good with so little ram!! jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://valerie.dodin.org http://news.opensuse.org/2009/04/13/people-of-opensuse-jean-daniel-dodin/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
