[opensuse-factory] RC1 - Question 3: option to Boot Installed System
In the 10.3, and earlier, version one had the ability to use the DVD/CD to BOOT INSTALLED SYSTEM (part of the initial installation stage); this gave one the ability to boot into an existing system which couldn't be accessed normally because, say, there was a problem in grub. It seems that this option has been removed in 11.0 - or is it still there somewhere but I cannot see it? (I've had to use the DVD for 10.3 to boot into a problematic 11.0B3 several times recently.) So, it WAS dropped and it's not my imagination. Thanks for this info. I looked in the bugzilla's fathomless pit but didn't see anything but will now look at the reference you supplied. Yes, please add. So far Peter and I have been the only ones to speak up. It's really a need for the Old World PPC systems since most people wouldn't know that you have to copy the installed kernel to the MacOS boot drive in order to actually properly boot the installed system..... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
