[opensuse-factory] new patch made package-management worse
I installed the new updates from yesterday. Now update-status is running all the time and consumes about 80-100% CPU. Installing two packages with YaST took 15 minutes on an athlon 1,4 GHz with 256 MByte RAM. Did anybody else also have this regression? Are PCs with less than 512 MByte RAM supposed to work with SL 10.2? -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Marcel Hilzinger Linux New Media AG Süskindstr. 4 D-81929 München Tel: +49 (89) 99 34 11 0 Fax: +49 (89) 99 34 11 99 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Yes it does. The problem is, that after login not only zmd, but also beagled starts. For a 256 MByte-machine this is too much I guess. Also adding an installation source with 20 (!) packages takes 4 minutes in YaST. -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Marcel Hilzinger Linux New Media AG Süskindstr. 4 D-81929 München Tel: +49 (89) 99 34 11 0 Fax: +49 (89) 99 34 11 99 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Are you talking about 10.1 + online updates, 10.2 alpha or Factory? Stnao --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

OK, please, really file the bug report including the zen logs, because I cannot confirm this behavior. Thanks a lot.
