Nice to see there is something going in this direction. Anyhow, even SLE is at the moment not 'up to date' anymore, as nVidia released new drivers almost 1 month ago (1.0-1884) Hopefully a place to host these drivers can be found (sorry, I don't have such a high bandwidth connection) Dominique

What? According to <http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html> the latest officially released Nvidia driver is still version 1.0-8774. Where did you get your information from?
Hopefully a place to host these drivers can be found (sorry, I don't have such a high bandwidth connection)

There has not been a binary incompatible kernel update since then and therefore no need to update or even rebuild any KMPs. Do you really think that every update of this driver will be provided for SLE10/SL10.1? I doubt that, SUSE does not do this for other packages either. These are stable released products, updates are provided only for fixing actual bugs. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

This depends. At least 1.0-8774 only addresses X.Org 7.1 issues. Therefore it doesn't make much sense to provide an update. There's another technical issue. zen-updater currently cannot handle different driver versions. There already exists a bugreport for this issue.
