[opensuse-factory] Cinnamon
I've issued deletion requests for the cinnamon packages that were in oS:Factory and I've decided not to make it part of the upcoming 12.2. There's no big reason for this except that I feel more confortable this way and I believe that keeping it on a community repository makes it easier to maintain and to experiment. Users who want cinnamon will still be able to use it with openSUSE. True, but it would be even better if any plugins were available for it. The total lack of shell plugins makes it useless on FACTORY :-( -- Stefan Seyfried "Dispatch war rocket Ajax to bring back his body!" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

You mean the ones on http://extensions.gnome.org? I guess most shell plugin devs are just careful in setting what version is supported, and as 3.4 is not out yet, only a handful of them are doing tests already. Once 3.4 is out there is surely going to be a boost with them again. It might also be worthy to get in touch with the authors of the plugins you're really interested in and offer help. Looking at https://extensions.gnome.org/ there are only 4 extensions working for my version of GNOME, indeed. Extensions authors have to port the code to new GNOME, there's not much we can do about that. (I would guess that for a lot of them, there's nearly nothing to do except checking that things work fine) Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

We could at least drop all the gnome-shell-extensions*.rpm packages from FACTORY :-)

Well, some stuff should definitely be included in the default installation of gnome shell (like being able to select a non-depressing theme ;-) But that's for sure a different topic. I'll try to port some of the extensions and shut up here with the offtopic posts now :-) -- Stefan Seyfried "Dispatch war rocket Ajax to bring back his body!" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
