Hi, Factory has upstart now. Not as default, but you can test it in doing: download upstart.rpm from factory repo (zypper doesn't offer "just do it on install) rpm -e --nodeps sysvinit rpm -ivh upstart.rpm reboot I submitted the fix for the broken dependency yesterday, but it's too late to fix for M3.
