[opensuse-factory] [ANNOUNCE] Removing packages depending on gtk+ 1.2
Hi, Since I'm going to file more than 10 delete requests for what is mostly old applications, I thought people might want to know about it. If you believe there's a good reason to keep a package, please speak up, but only if you care enough to also find people to maintain the gtk+ 1.2 package (and friends, like glib 1.2). I'll create the delete requests at the end of the week. Here's the list of packages: ami: - Korean input method - scim deprecates this bombermaze: - game (bomberman/dynablaster clone) - similar games are available in the games OBS project (xblast, tomatoes) - dead upstream fnlib: - font rendering for enlightenment - was used by old versions of enlightenment only, as far as I know gau: - Gtk-based Hangul terminal emulator - shouldn't be needed with a recent terminal and a good Korean input method gbuffy: - mailbox watcher - dead upstream - patch to port to gtk2 available in case someone wants to resurrect the project: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=515274 goom2k4: - visual effects generator for mp3 players - not used by anything anymore, as far as I can tell (code was integrated in gstreamer) gtktalog: - manages a catalog of cd-rom - dead upstream kanji-lookup: - simple kanji lookup application - gucharmap can be used nicolatter: - Japanese input method - scim deprecates this pcpmon: - graphical monitor for Performance Co-Pilot - no upstream available - kmchart is an alternative soundtracker: - sound editor - dead upstream - has been removed from Debian surf: - tool to visualize some real algebraic geometry - pretty sure there are other tools to do this - dead upstream traffic-vis: - tools to do network monitoring - dead upstream Thanks, Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Here's the list of packages: For me it's ok but you'll keep gtk/glib libs or not ?!?

No, the plan is to remove them, unless people step up to maintain them. Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
