[opensuse-factory] 13.1 Milestone 2 and Skype -- problem
I have 3 x86_64 boxes where skype used to work but since upgrading from Milestone 1 to Milestone 2 I only get a buzzing sound like 50Hz hum. On the same network I have Kubuntu 13.04 boxes on which skype works properly. If I start skype (4.2.0.11) test or someone tries to call me on the M2 boxes there is just this buzzing sound that continues until I close skype. It's a standard sound setup with pulseaudio. All other apps work normally, playing flash movies, SDR radio, etc., no problem. I wonder if anyone else has noticed the same problem or even has it working properly. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ... It's a known Skype interaction with pulseaudio 4.0, see: http://community.skype.com/t5/Linux/Crackling-and-unusable-sound-with-pulsea... export PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 before starting Skype works around it until they properly fix it. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Amazing! Thanks that works fine. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ... I did not know that workaround... What I did was to update skype and worked nicely again. skype-4.2.0.11-suse.i586.rpm Alin On Friday 28 Jun 2013 01:23:10 Sid Boyce wrote:
