Indeed. Some testing (with pwgen -n -C) showed that also the first character never is a number. But: If you add the -s switch, you'll also get numbers as the first or second character. Yes, the code allows adding a digit only after a phoneme which is not the first one. Thus a digit cannot appear as first or second character of a password (and as a third only after two one-letter phonemes). The -packaging list is very supportive. As Henne said he hasn't touched these in years, I don't think you will have much problem. You can easily review the work history via the web ui. Kostas, I'm curious what you mean by "I will start". If you're trying to learn packaging, updating an existing package could be a smart thing to do, but maintaining these old static packages is pretty much like being a fireman in a town where the phone never rings. No real work to do, but you need to keep your training up so that you can do job when the need arises. BTW: there are much more active upstreams where packaging involves a near continuous process of updating the packages. Firefox would be prime example of that. Most packages are in the middle and get an update or two a year. If you want to try some from scratch, take a look at the under evaluation or consideration section of: http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Digital_forensics_and_incident_response That's a wiki page I use to track my packaging efforts related to Digital Forensics and Incident Response. Many of those aren't on OBS at all. What I do with a new package is search OBS via the webUI and see if there is an existing base to work from. Surprisingly often there is in someone's home project. Then I branch it and start cleaning up the specfile and get it ready for submission. Then I submit it to a devel project (often security for me) and from there to factory. The biggest issue on new packages is often making sure the license is done right to pass legal review. fyi: Most of what I work on is either forensic/security related or in the filesystems and backup area. I also have an appliance on susestudio that has most of the packages I maintain on it. No rush. It's not like the loss of a maintainer means a synchronous dropping of the package. And sometimes, out-of-use packages rightfully get dropped. In this example, because there is ddclient which is another - and arguably more prevalent - implementation that handles DynDNS. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
