I was downloading a program via "zypper in bootchart" this comes after having to completely reload 11.3 M5. That came from mkinitrd not writing the MBR correctly. Bad news is that zypper script ran mkinitrd. I sure hope it works correctly. It will be no fun to reload 11.3 M5 for the third time on one machine. I removed a bunch of modules to save bandwidth. Thanks openSuSE for leaving a working copy of the MBR in /boot. "dd if=backup_mbr of=/dev/sda" did the trip On 04/18/2010 08:50 PM, Donn Washburn wrote:

Thanks Andreas; That fixed the problem. Now if the GRUB problem with mkinitrd or GRUB could get fixed - things would be correct again.

I've been seeing those warnings for quite a while, but never got to look other than at /boot/grub/device.map which was OK. Main thing, the kernels always boot. Regards Sid. On 19/04/10 02:50, Donn Washburn wrote:

Same thing from here. I am not sure what is causing the problem. It appears to be a GRUB problem but who knows. And yes it has been going on for a different version while. On 04/19/2010 07:52 AM, Sid Boyce wrote:
