No persistent journal since August 20?
Hi all does anyone else have only non-persistent journal since last week? I filed https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1229721 but it did not gain any attraction, so I'm wondering if I'm alone with this... I have updated a system last week 202408020 and was searching for some entries in journal and was wondering why there are only the actual journal is present. i was thinking maybe the update has deleted all old journals. have not investigated. simoN -- www.becherer.de

This happened to me during 15.5 => 15.6 update (not all, but there was a now fixed update problem which hit users with a dedicated filesystem for /var/log/journal and custom config), but this one is different. Old journals are there, but current journal is not persisted to disk. I assume the handover from initramfs to real root is not happening correctly. -- Stefan Seyfried "For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled." -- Richard Feynman

both. System at least has the non-persistent journal, user has none at all: seife@mixi:~> journalctl --user -b -q seife@mixi:~> -- Stefan Seyfried "For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled." -- Richard Feynman
