Kernel panic with openSUSE-Tumbleweed-DVD-x86_64-Snapshot20220819
"Not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)... The checksums matched and I did boot from ventoy.
I used dd and got the same issue. error ../../grub-core/kern/mm.c:372:out Fedora had the same issue. If I boot into legacy, it loads fine. Issue is on uefi.

You should probably post a screenshot (maybe with a phone, if not a serial console :-), so we can see what you are seeing. - Adam
Live DVD doesn't have this issue. Anyway, here's a screenshot https://i.imgur.com/2lV8R1W.png

It looks like grub run out of memory for initrd. This then would not be a kernel panic and more of a bug in grub. This is from the DVD or installed system? There was a similar bug last year. https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1187257 Can you report a bug with a screenshot so it can be fixed? - Adam
